Ira Powers, aged 64 years died Wednesday night at 12 o’clock after an extended illness. His funeral will occur this afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment at Oak Hill.  Mr. Powers was a son of Jonathan Powers, one of the pioneer settlers of the city.  Mr. Powers was raised here, but after reaching manhood lived in Iowa and Illinois, marrying in the former state. His wife died several years ago and three children still live, Will Powers, of Pierce, Neb and George and Mary of this city. Mrs. D.N. Morgan is his sister.  Mr. Powers served during the war in an Illinois regiment and proved a fine soldier. He was a most excellent citizen and was highly esteemed as a neighbor and a friend.
